Having an issue because some refuse to write a policy for someone who hires a person to drive, but is leased onto a company. Who do you use for your workers comp?

I just looked into workers comp and is it really 13.5% + fees of 1099 wages!? For 1.8 mi payroll im being quoted $310,000 yearly.
Do you know how occupational insurance compares to workers comp from a cost perspective? -
Occ was 150 a month

This isn't my first hand experience as I pay for neither option. However, I've heard Occupational Insurance pays easier and is cheaper. Don't take my word for it though because it's just hearsay.

When I was leased the company offered occ/acc. However back in about 2006 a company I was leased to need me to get workers comp and wouldn't accept occ/acc.
In North Carolina, I can get a "ghost policy" only like $30 a month. I dont know if you can get a ghost policy in all states though.ProfessionalNoticer Thanks this. -
Ive been trying to figure out why I cant get qoutes. Thanks for this info. Now I know, ghost policy is what I need.

occupational insurance is not the same as WC if you live in a mandatory WC state, (like mass)
