You can do what ever you want dont listen to nay sayers if the guy who has 12,000 trucks would have listened to the doubters he would still be a one man show.Remember people who are scared to jump head first end up last with one truck and working their but off for thirty years, why not take a chance. This is just my advice not an expert at all but i would keep driving buy another truck let someone drive that one buildd my cash reserve and then let someone drive mine then its off to the races keep cost down and before
you know it you could have 12,000 trucks someone else did it why cant you.

Remember go getta trucking NEVER LET SOMEONE ELSES OPINION CONTROL YOUR DESTINY. WE BECAME OWNER OPS TO BE OUR OWN BOSS BUT TO MANY OF US JUST BROUGHT A JOB.JUST MAKE SURE YOU COUNT EVERY PENNY JUST LIKE THE BIG BOYS DO AND YOU WILL BE ALRIGHT IF YOU JUST MAKE 50 PER MILE FOR YOURSELF AFTER EXPENSES OFF ONE TRUCK THATS 60,000 PER YEAR AND THATS JUST .50 WHt if you can stretch it to 60-75 YOUR GOOD.

no if you only have 1 truck you wont make any money. companies make money on hiring drivers to drive there trucks because they own a fleet of them 1 truck by itself can possibly make a tiny profit if done right however not enough to sustain you or the company if you have a fleet of them you could do it cause the tiny profits per truck would add up thats how companies make it and is also why companies are always trying to screw the drivers cause there are some months even the biggest companies loose money on some of there trucks so to stay in the game they will try everything to screw there drivers

I'm the "driving" side of a owner operator. My bosses are a husband and wife who have regular 9-5 jobs (hers is working for a freight forwarder company in El Paso as well as being the dispatcher for the small company, MBR Transport, that the truck is leased to). Since they are still making payments on this truck, it's in their best interest to keep it rolling since if I'm not making money, neither are they. Works out pretty good. The only times I've had to sit more than a few days is either at home or when the truck had a major breakdown. Most of the maintenance is done in El Paso either by the husband (he's a diesel mechanic at Central Transport) or some of his connections in El Paso who can do the work and get parts at a discount.

Without their connections, I'm sure it would be next to impossible to pay me to drive their truck and make a profit.

Nothing is imposible like i said earlier if an owner can make .50 mile for himself after bills and paying driver he can make it.Dont listen to these people they dont know how a business is built they say big companies have fleets of trucks but what they dont understand is that same company probably started with one or two trucks. So what they are saying it is imposible to make it unless you go out and buy 100 trucks LOL....CRazy i guess they will be company drivers forever thinking like that.I feel sorry for those people but to each his own. Some people dont mind living average i wanna make as much money as i can this is AMERICA you can do what you want.
