I think they are referring to a road test which is just around the parking lot. No physical endurance test. They will send you for another physical regardless of how new yours is. If you stay 90 days all expenses are paid but if you leave they charge you back for the bus, physical and hotel.
Not a bad place to work.

That 90 days or having to pay them back makes sense. Why go through all the trouble and expense of bringing some one on, give them an orientation program and physical just to lose money. Not a good business plan. How often do you get raises? This one concerns me. Ozark a website that I looked at says they pay experienced drivers xx cents per mile to start and consider 3 months or more experienced. I was offered less than the advertised start. Any answers??

How much experience do you have and what did they offer you?

8 years prior DAC reports. 3 boring weeks training with Roehl and 6 months driving, .35 per mile. Roehl will hire me back at .36, but I don't just want to sit and wait and wait and wait for loads anymore. I live 3 hours from Memphis and wouldn't have to go back all the way to Wisconsin.

You to huh. I just don't want to jump back into being dispatched for a drop and hook to find out the trailer hasn't even been brought up to the dock yet when I get there. Then sit for 28 hrs waiting to get it loaded to find out I am heading back to where I just came from to drop it and move trailers around in Kansas City for 2 days because the yard guys are off those days or to busy. Having to fight to get detention pay only to find out I only got paid for 1/2 hour is maddening. I have another company that will put me on for .05 more and have steady miles with a lot of extras. I think you probably already know who I am talking about. I am just finishing up getting my paper work into them. So why the move? Your threads seemed happy enough where you are at.

I got nothing bad to say about the company at all just hoping it picks up soon. Companies I have applied to have drivers with similar miles to mine and I'm wondering if its slow industry wide. -
I'm trying to get on with maverick in little rock. Start at.40 per mi., reefer which I've never pulled but it can't be much worse than van. They are really expanding and their drivers all seem happy with the miles they are getting, plus the new pay scale that went into effect recently. My situation is different I'm sure from yours. I want to drive national and they are starting to head more NW it seems.

If it is slow now I can't understand what would cause it. Maybe it's just this holiday weekend and everyone has already taken off before it. Or it could be that some may be taking inventory. Remember the government is closing in on its physical end of year calendar now too.

Any new updates on miles?
