I never noticed before, the air leak from the blend door actuator, until a few days ago. The air leak started becoming louder.
I opened up the dash and looked inside. I could see two blend door actuators mounted to the top of the box for the air and heat.
I pulled out the one leaking, which was the front one; it has a grey air line on one side and the red air line on the other end.
I replaced it with a new one. And the new leaks too. I'm scratching my head on this.
If anybody has any thoughts on this I would be glad to hear it.
Something I observed is there is a lot of pressure on that line and there is no in line water separator or filter, like for the air line running across the firewall to the temperature coolant fan switch.
Should there be an air line inline filter on the air line before it connects to the blend door actuator?
Is there a valve or regulator somewhere that I need to locate and reduce some of the air pressure running to that actuator?
It just doesn't seem right for a brand new actuator to be leaking and have such a strong air pressure going to it.
