Most of the people on here are drivers and may be out on the road and not answer thiongs for a few days. Let the question sit for a few days and see who comes in on it.

 

I'm just finishing my training this week,and take the dmv test next tuesday. Over the last month I've talked to company reps from a bunch of different trucking companies. As near as i can tell I think the best thing you can do is just follow your gut instinct. I've heard good things and bad about just about every major company out there,and it really is hard to sort it all out. I'm going to make a decision here soon myself,so good luck, and just do your best at whatever company you decide to go with,and you'll be OK.........

 

Hey, 07 trucker, CALM DOWN! PI&I is a relatively small company, so reaching one of their drivers might be difficult. from what I have seen (of their equipment at the detroit terminal) they run mostly slightly older trucks with small sleepers. I have spoken with a few of their drivers and they seemed happy with the company. Good luck and stay cool on your stool.

 

I live about 2 miles from there Brookfield terminal. I also see a lot of them going in and out of WCI Steel. They have been around for quite a few years, so I think they should be stable. As you said they are union so you will have good benefits. So it should be a pretty good choice if you don’t mind messing with frozen tarps during the winter.
