I worked for them over the summer of 2007, I wanted to learn flatbed.
It was a poor choice, Their is the union side and non union.
I had no choice but to go union. worked for premier the union side of the company. still used PII trucks.

    21% of line haul

I'll make this short as possible.

    - Training 2 weeks ( if new to flatbedding ) $50 a day
    - Motel was at the truck stop off I-80 in hubbard ( paid for )
( ~5 miles from the terminal, drive yourself or use their car )
Pretty much screwed if didn't take your PV. the other guys would wake up earlier and take the car.

    - The training consisted of other new guys training you.( they had a week of exp )
Haul from Wheatland tube back to yard. Winner steel back to yard
Making $50 a day you where their slave. Cut throating the other carriers in
Sharon,Pa and P.I.&I was frowned upon by many others.because the others knew we where " training " and taking their loads.

    - I received my 99 frieghtshaker with 48ft trailer in 9 days since training. No going out with trainer over the road for weeks. pretty much no actual training involved.learn the basics of tarping and chaining

new guys fresh out of CDL school where being thrown in their own truck after 2 weeks.
    SCARY

    - The management was super nice. Mike Mantos got #### done and took no ########. The dispatcher for the new guys out of the pittsburgh area was bob forget his last name. was a true ###.
    - The shop in masury was headed by donny nichols, never got #### done and was a dick. the mechanics sided with the drivers so it worked out.

For 3 months I had one route. Deadhead from pittsburgh to charleroi each morning.
Pickup coils out of wheeling-pitt in charleroi,pa then went to Winner steel in sharon,pa. the way home picked up at deferrco in sharon,pa and dropped off in Ambridge,pa
Super easy home everyday before 5pm.

    The CONS-
    ###### Equipment. had late 90's and for the veterans 5 years+ had almost new trucks.

The pay was horrible, $300-500 a week. busting my ###. I lost 25 pounds HAHAHAA
Had to pay union dues also.

If the pay was better would of stayed, it was easy work and had a cushy run. Also would of chosen to be dispatched out of wheeling,Wv

Well I would say about half of that is true...First off all the trucks we run are 01 or newer except for OO's..I have been there since Sept. 08 and I have a 2006 Freightliner Columbia. The pay is good if you want to work. Duferco to Ambridge is not a run. If your running local your not making money and the run you were doing was not going to make you money, that may have been cushy but your right, the money is going to suck. Everyone has their opinions about places the work but opinions are like @ssholes everyones got one. And as far as Mike Monos. He is a great guy. I was stuck in Jersey for a day and he put 100 bucks on my comdata card just to help me out. Seems ok to me. Yes being thrown out on the road after 2 weeks of trainging without someone holding can be scary but if you want to do it then you will deal. And as far as the training runs from the yard to wheatland or WCI do you really think a company driver is worried about the fact that trainees are taking these loads that pay a company driver $15.00??? I'am def. not worried about a $15.00 load. So I can't say anything bad about them and being a small company I have found its a great place to work and the people there take care of one another. Best of luck to everyone

All I have to say is pay stinks. They seem to cut you off once you make a certain amount. Gross average is 500 to 700 a week. Home time is good. health coverage is good if you can find money to cover your deductibles. Tax the heck out of wages and have no answers to why that is. Cut wages by 15000 this year in comparison to 3 years ago at the same place. Rates still dropping on there freight and inturn so does your pay. company safety record shows they don't care to train new drivers either. trucks losing trailers front tires etc. Trucks are older and rough on the driver.

You are right their equipment sucks the mechanics are on drugs and they cut rates constantly. #### Mike Monas #### Jeff Jenkins and most of all #### JW in the shop. Sorry but this company should be shut down its dangerous to drive their equipment.
