Is there any Trucking companies out there that actually treats there drivers with respect??
They give you loads that only a jet good get there with on time. There are D.O.T. rules to Hours off service, which not one Trucking Companies stood up for there Drivers, when these rules were being set up. Need a company that pays good and gets you home on weekends for at least 48 hours. They all go home every night and all weekend, if they cant give use our weekend then they are not worth the time to consider.. WE HAVE FAMILYS TO AND A LIFE

Im still going, dont have any real complaints, still making decent money, but "freight slowed down" a little and for feb, march and into april, didnt get home much. Now getting home again most weekends, so I assume that spring has sprung and bld materials have picked up a bit. Ive never worked for anyone that could actually get you home every weekend, but they still seem to try if you ask. Have the same dispatcher, and never have any issues with him. He calls ahead before giving me a cheap load, and lets me know what if anything is available, and Always gets me a better paying load on the backside of taking a cheap one, so i still average 42/47 cpm for the last 7 months. My average income is better so far than any other otr company. I even had one stretch where I stayed out and ran to california and back. Grossed 1900 for the week. I still say though they have their flaws, this is one of the better companies ive worked for. But have talked to drivers who are not doing as well, and I say, If your dispatchers not making you money, fire him!
    Drive safe.

Well I'll tell you this, I was hurt in the truck at a truck stop and informed P&S dispatch about it, Went to maine delivered my load then went on break. Took off my shoe where the wound was and bam the foot swelled up. Went to the hospital by taxi. They gave me IV with antibodics They said get home and seek medical treatment from pcp. Called dispatch that night and told them. He said have to wait till morning for an ok. So I did. Morning came and day dispatch tried to give me a load, now at this time my foot is so swollen my boot don't fit. I informed him of this and he said can't you still pick up and del friday. I said I need med. treatment. He then got all crazy about it. I called safety and it took them a total of 17 hrs or so to say drive empty. They shut off my fuel card in route home. Got home went to emergency room and had surgry that day for gain green. Necrotizing Faculitius. They fought me for workmans comp, so I filed Unemployment since I could work 8 hrs sitting. Got that, then they fought me on that and I won! Won workmans comp too. Then they tried to send me to the Salvation Army to Volinteer and pay me min wage. Well they didnt have sitting work so they sent me home. So then P&S tried to cancel unemployment because they said I didnt show up when I did and had a signed letter from the supervisor there saying I did and they didnt have work. So I won again. So to put this plainly I would think twice first. In orentaion they express we are all about the driver, if it wasnt for the driver we wouldnt have jobs so we take care of you. Keep in mind I never turned down not one load and got a bonus for return on investments with in two months of working for them. Thats the top 10 driver reward. And got a bonus for lowest idle time fuel saver in the same two months of working for them. So now I question myself should I sue them for breach of contract for the not sending me home fast enough and that in orintation they say so many times we take care of our drivers, that gain green set in. This type of gain green can and has been known to kill with in 24-48 hrs. This happened in Aug 2012 and I'm still off work, and they are still trying to slow down the pay coming in and fight about anything and everything they can. Knowing I have 4 kids and a wife to support. I will try to add pictures so you can see and understand how bad it was so you can judge for yourself. Keep in mind I went almost 6 months with no pay from workmans comp. Also a side note for you. They take out per diem 287.00 a week. and give it back tax free in three months it was about 3500.00 roughly. So in turn thats not included in your earning which means no social security reports for it and workmans comp dont count it because they arent paying the 9-15 % to workmans comp for it. They told me I couldnt not do the per diem at orintation. They also tried to blame my diabetties so watch out for this company, my experence wasn't good and still fightling me on this. Goto my profile and see pics, they are nasty looking so beware.

lloydmst... fyi, it's "gangrene." Sorry, grammar Natsy here.

On to P&S... to go along with what you said, how I ended up being treated there, and how I've seen them treat others... they are typically a Southern Trucking Company (South of the Ohio, East of the Mississippi) in that they think they own the plantation. You got a house, and food, so what if we whip you when you're sick? What if we tell you to hurt yourself, and do things not even in our best interests? You aren't there to THINK, you're just their nagger, you're there to tend the plow and mind the head man.

And no, I meant *nI there, but this gets past the auto-censor. You get the point.

In a related note, look at Covenant's main offices in Chattanooga. It's a plantation house. And you, driver, work their fields.

Me, I hopped the Underground Railroad (Greyhound) back home in December, and now have a great job... at Swift.

    No, I didn't stutter.

I'm just letting everyone know how I was treated. Not that its not the same every where else.

A full call of BS here.

You say you had an injury happen and in 48 hours you had full blown case of gangrene. bad enough that it required emergency surgery. Yeah right, not going for that.
Gangrene takes a while to develop, It is a bacterial infection. Bacterial infections have an incubation period, Some as short as 3 days, but more typical is 7 to 10. But to get to the point they had to perform surgery, clearly indicates a long term infection. You mentioned necrotizing fasciitis, this is most often caused by a Streptococcus infection that blocks off blood and oxygen flow to the affected area. 48 hours is a very short time frame for what you say the extent of what has happened.

I did look at your pictures. an advanced condition I would say.

You say you have Diabetes, guess what one of the major and most common complications of Diabetes is. Yep, gangrene, most often it starts in the feet.
My guess is you some how skirted by the diabetes question. Knowing full well it would have disqualified you.

As to your quote about the per diem system and pay. Wrong. Per Diem is not held for 3 months, then paid back. it works just like every other company. weekly.

Im not speaking to anyone specific here, but I DO get home, I DO make good money and average a high cents per mile, and I Do have ELOGS, so I am by no means being worked like a slave. I get my 10+ hour brakes every night, I get my 34 if I stay out more than a week, don't turn down loads and have never made less than 1000/ week except when I needed an extra day off for a dr appt. No one can make all their delivery appointments running legal, but they still bought the freight, so as a professional, the right thing to do is not complain about not being given enough time, and correct it with a new estimated time of arival asap, as well as then making the new time you estimated by getting your sleep and getting up on time to then make that delivery. Its just a reality of the job. Like it or not. Just my 2 cents on anyone thinking any trucking company works you to hard when YOU were the one who wanted to be a roughneck flatbedder from the wild west.. But dont want to be overworked. Go drive an ice cream truck. Maybe that will be easier!

Okay since you decided to try and insult me, you pigheaded racist Southern #######, I was not referring to anything but the way, likely you or one of your racist idiot friends decided to tell me how to go to the worst possible location for repairs, and when I was able to procure something better, which was that moron's job, not mine, and I did it better than him, so he threatened my job. After they couldn't get me home for weeks on end, to a town they drive through ALL the time. Load of ######## atop load of ########, and incompetence hidden by threats THAT is what I hated at P&S. I busted my ###, and made good money, but got NO respect.

By the way, you pig-####### blithering twit, I'm probably whiter than you, in every sense of the term--except, unlike you, I have a #####.

Call me an idiot, I know a shill and a ###### good ol boy sucking #### in the weight room at BHAM when I hear you.

Oh, they have work, plenty of it, and pay well. That I won't deny. What I had issue with, is when I'm going above and beyond, trying to do what's best for the company above myself, and being threatened with termination because I made that nimrod... what's his name? Darrell? Jarhead-acting twat in breakdown, I made him look bad for not doing HIS job, they NEVER looked into getting the job done quickly and said, screw him out there, let him sit all weekend without a load, even though he didn't NEED a repower... IF we did OUR job.

And as far as Swift goes, they have made mistakes, sure, it happens But there is an air of ASSISTANCE here that was utterly vacant at P&S, and will forever remain so. Why?

Look at good ol boy BAMAROLLTIDE up there, assuming I'm some "lazy negro" because I talked bad about his company.

P.S. to the bama pig ######, you're the sort of narrow minded nagger they love in the south. PLOW THEM FIELDS YOU ####### NAGGER!
