I have done a LOT of research on trucking companies over the past few months as I have been looking for work, and this is what I've found. As most of us know.If you'r looking to be treated as a person as opposed to a number you would do well to stay away from the mega large outfits. These large companies generally have better benefit packages but do treat there drivers rather impersonally. The smaller companies tend to treat there drivers more as an asset. They call you by name and are more likely to work with you on matters that come up in you'r life,As best they can. However the smaller companies generally can not match the benefit package and perhaps even the pay rates of the larger companies. After much thought,I have decided to go with P and S transportation,a moderately sized flatbed company, aprox 500 tractors out of Birmingham AL.All there tractors, friaghtshakers and Petes are 3 years or newer,They will get me home on weekends and Pay 27% to start .I will be starting orientation on 3/19/12 and I will keep you all informed as to how things are going. If you have any questions, please feel free at ask.I will have my laptop with me and will keep in touch.God bless and have a good day.

I can't speak on experience in actually working there (P&S), however, I can tell you that they ILLEGALLY obtained my prior work history, the information given to them was absolutely FALSE. The information given to them was not actually legal to give out. I believe they had a personal contact within my former company that gave them details that go beyond legal limitations. It is an interesting story and I am happy it worked out the way that it did, as we all know how sneaky recruiters will be to get their commission and I want nothing to do with a company that has any employees behaving in such a manner. Just my two cents.........

Sorry I,ve not gotten back to yall sooner but it's been a busy week.Well orientation for P and S went very well.As I stated in an earlier post,They flew me out to Birmingham AL. for orientation. They put me up in a very nice PRIVATE room at the Clarion hotel in Birmingham AL, they Paid for three meals a day and treated me very well all the way through orientation. They tell you they do not pay you for orientation,However you do get a thousand dollars sign on bonus,500.00 when your first load is delivered after orientation. Also,if you do not have steel coil hauling experience they will put you through a two day coil securement class. If you do this class you will be paid for the two days.I have been assigned a 2012 frightshaker. The only drawback to this company that I can find is that the trucks only run at 63 mph.All and all I am VERY pleased with this company. If you have flatbed experience and are looking to make a change,I would strongly recommend this company.I will continue to keep yall updated.
