Please point out where I condoned sitting in the left lane of the interstate. Happens to be one of my biggest pet peeves. I simply pointed out to a TTR juror that the OP did not state whether he was passing anyone or not.

I didn't say anything about hang out in the left lane.
I just thought it was funny that you basically said that someone is ignorant for not knowing and I quote " trucks are prohibited from the left lane of a three or more lane highway"
This blanket statement is totally untrue.

In TN, there are places where you aren't allowed in the 3rd lane and other places where it's ok, the signs indicate such.
TN did just pass (or maybe getting ready to pass) the "slowpoke law". What it says is that you stay in the right lane except to pass.

What I hate more than trucks traveling in the 3rd lane is the trucks that travel in the center lane. In the places where you aren't allowed in the 3rd lane, truckers will stay in the center lane, more or less blocking you from passing on the left because you can't use the 3rd lane. Usually I can travel through Nashville as fast as I want in the right lane. All the slow trucks are hogging the middle lane, all the 4-wheelers are in the far left lane, and the right lane is smooth sailing. I just pass them on the right if they won't get over.

Used to be in AR, left lane use was encouraged.....They used to post signs and call it "highway equalization" or something like that...But I agree, left lane should be for passing, or else stay right....If it was posted, but you missed it, man up and pay the fine....If it wasn't posted, I'd fight it.....

Isn't that only if signage says no trucks in the left lane??? I think I have been on interstates with three lanes and no signs and trucks were running in all three lanes.

It could be a general rule that I am not aware of or I was sleeping in class that day... :)

Everyone is stuck on the lane issue... I would, as mentioned above, contact a "local" attorney or the court and ask specifically about the section of the law cited on the violation.

With everything else "interesting" about the ticket and all the wrong information on the ticket too... It could be some hoax... If not, all the misinformation might get the ticket tossed.

    Verify and then Fight It

Good luck and post the outcome here too.
