Think it may have been where they were in line, like if you check in and park in a row in front of shipping/receiving office. Then once assigned a door move to that door. Deacesed was probably in that line, was opening doors to get ready to back in when other dude pulled behind him and killed him. RIP driver.

    That's what I thought too. ^^
My sister always tells me to get an office job so the worst thing that could ever happen is losing a wheel off my desk chair.

That's a horrible way to die... I always thought it was the big crashing roll overs that were the issue, or losing a steer tire on a hill or the really dangerous events that were the things to fear.

99.99% sure they were parked in front of the office when you first pull into that facility right before the dock doors...which means Mohamud pullled right behind the guy and either A) Hit him not even coming to a complete stop when he did so or B) came to a complete stop and then drifted forward and hit him. You can park towards the back of the place but you would be turned around to face the dock doors and there isn't enough room for another tractor trailer to park behind you.

We have a few trailers that have a severely delayed spring brake engagement once you pull the red button. And these are only maybe 5 years old and it's just a small series in our fleet of Utility reefers that do this. I mean you will roll for a good 5-8 seconds before the spring brake will come into play which is why I never rely on trailer brake only (and typically only do tractor only in a typical parking scenario)

This is another opportunity to mention to [newer] drivers to NEVER walk in between and along rows at a truck stop where trailers are backed up to one another. You just never know if one may decide to "move back" a bit more before going to bed.

"Police said Shil applied his air parking break supply, which did not fully engage, and the vehicle drifted forward"

Either the cops don't know the basics of air brake systems or Shil thought the trailer/trolley valve was the parking brake!

The parking brakes are spring not air.

How do we know this wasn't intentional?

I guess we don't but, that's a little much. Motive: wanted a door first?
He's probably devastated, like anyone would be.
