I'm simply flabbergasted. Who pays for that? Is the revenue really there to cover that? And that's just one way? So if you do that twice a week, costs you over $1,000 bucks? Man, you guys got to be nuts, sorry. I remember, early 2000's, I ran a load of cheese from Marshfield, Wis. to somewhere in PA. and the guy said, "go to the 2nd gate in Ohio, the scale reads less and a different class". I said, you got to be kidding, and even then balked at the $50 bucks. I only did that once and said, I'd do 50 loads in a gravel pit before I'd put up with that crap. No wonder everything is so expensive.

I'm disappointed in all of you, hasn't C.W. McCall ( and to a lesser extent, Kris Kristofferson in the hoaky, yet entertaining remake of Convoy) taught you anything? "We ain't a gonna pay no toll, and we crashed the gate doin' 98,,let them truckers roll, 10-4" Seriously, what would they do if everyone refused to pay the toll. I suppose we'd all have to drive AM General 6x6 tractors to get through. Don't laugh, when I hauled rail cans, I thought of a surplus AM General,,I swear, I don't know how, or why you guys still do this.:dontknow:

When I went to the east coast from the west, I would just stay on I-80 (if I was on it). And then I would exit at Hwy 15 and go south toward Harrisburg to I-81.
I-80 was a nice road with plenty of truck stops. Mostly rural.
Some would take I-80 to US 322. Going to US 15 instead added about 35 miles. I preferred hwy 15.
Those tolls are getting ridiculous. Pennsylvania is a beautiful state, but I don't want to live in a high tax state. Nice people, too.
NC has better weather anyway. My home state.

We Pennsylvanians don't use the Turnpike. That's why we have a bunch of other roads. The Turnpike is a nice way to extort cash from other state's people.

It's kinda like going on vacation. Pick a vacation hotspot. Let's just say the Outer Banks.

Locals don't shop where tourons ( tourist morons) go. They won't pay the high prices. But they will willingly watch as carloads of tourons spend oodles of money on something that they (the locals) have access to all the time, without the high cost.

I run through PA all the time. I always check the "Avoid all toll roads" option in my routing app.

My friend has ezpass. He has received at least 2 deductions out of his account totaling 200 or more. He called Ohio ezpass and they referred him to Pa. All they do is give him the runaround. They have billed him for using the Pa pike from somewhere out east to Ohio twice. He can't seem to get anywhere with them. Haven't discussed it with him lately but seems like a money grab. Bunch of crooks.
