I have a 2016 Peterbilt. Paccar Mx13. I had a coolant leak, plan to change out the rad before winter, so instead of adding coolant I added water. Friend said it was safe, Seem like started with adding ones a month, it became more and more frequently. One day it started to build up pressure in the Rad. Pushed out coolant/water. I thought motor was done, or the head cracked, soon i had to add a gallon every 45 minutes, dropped the trailer went home. There was No exhaust in Rad. Nor bubbles when idling. Most people said head was cracked. I decided to drain all the water out, put proper coolant in. Currently 4 plus hours on the road. Got no issues. Thought would put it out there. Don’t cheap out

Compressor head is what mine was. Let them do a test to see if you have combustion gasses in the Antifreeze. the compressor head on mine was bad and leaking pressure into the coolant that cools the compressor therefore putting pressure into cooling system. Driver was putting in a gallon per day. To check this, you can disconnect and plug off your coolant lines going to compressor. Hook a water hose to the compressor so it doesn't overheat and then run truck. Check to see if pressure is still building up in cooling system.
