One of my trucks a 12 589 mx13. We turned it to 530 hp and have had zero issues, it actually feels like it's a big truck now.
The price to turn that unit up is $550.
I can connect you with the guy who does mine remotely

Well there’s no such thing as a 2012 - 589 since they are only being built in 2024.

Remotely updating a MX engine is not possible without pirated software so my guess is your uprate is 100% not factory software.

You will not get an MX engine HP uprate that is legit for 550. In fact 90 percent of MX engines are built at the highest HP rating from the factory and are not legally upratable without hard part changes for emissions compliance.

A “Castrated” MX may be also included on that so-called 550.

My next door neighbor here at the truck stop is getting a Cummins motor put in his Pete.
The MX- 13 has drained his bank account and his marriage .

Did you talk to the dealership about a possible uprate? If they can’t do it holla at one of the tuning companies like 3k Calibrations.

Stop acting like a male Karen.
I have a 2012 589 so where are you getting they didn't make it in 12?
Why would anyone care if it was a factory tune? Does chevy make a factory tune for a 5.3 to 400hp no so why would that matter. What matters is it the tune is tested and verified, I've tested mine with over 75,000 miles with not a single issue, that's what matters. Me and my 550hp 2012 589 how dare i

You’re right, I have no clue what I’m talking about.

Have fun driving your deleted 589.

    When did I say deleted?
I must be lost you reply to my message so what was you issue?
I thought you were saying in 2012 there were no 589, 2nd was thinking you were picking on a tune that wasn't factory.
So what exactly is the problem?
587 got it twisted. Easy to do when one has had so many trucks hard to keep up with.
    Never said deleted.
What is wrong with a tune that isn't factory?
Are you suggesting non factory tunes a inferior?

I don’t have a problem. I also don’t care what or where you got your 550 tune from factory or otherwise.

I just don’t want these people to think it’s realistic to walk into a reputable shop and get a legit HP uprate on an MX engine on the cheap, because it’s not.

It's not easy and finding a tuner who is actually good with verifiable tunes and reputation is very hard and takes a lot of mistakes to find them. However I don't think @ $500 to $600 is cheap, that is why I said I can get them the contact info for the person I use,
After 75,000 miles with zero problems I'd say it's a good safe tune.
I've seen so called tuners do there thing and leave a customer stranded after 5,000 - 10,000 miles with a blowed head gasket
