Truck was running and driving fine. Parked it for the night. When I turned it on the next day fired right up fine but now have check engine seek service light.

What year truck we talking about?
-
Sorry. 2014 peterbilt 389
-
P1515 EGR derate
-
What does that mean?
-
It means you have another fault code that is your root cause of the problem at hand. The derate is the result which limits the fuel until the problem is corrected.
pushbroom and spsauerland Thank this. -
Ok. I also have a VGT code. Spn 2795
-
Too generic really. FMI? The fault Points to VGT position erratic. Many possibilities.
You need to get to a shop for diag.
I would start with checking a fuses labeled ECM or engine power supply. Check power and ground supply to VGT actuator and check the resistance of the 120 ohm resistor internal to the actuator. If you have the ability pull the actuator and check VGT sweep. Beware - you need Davie to install and calibrate the actuator if it is removed.
Good LuckQUALITYTRUCK, pushbroom and spsauerland Thank this.
