Hello guys,
Just picked up a truck Peterbuilt 389 with Paccar MX-13 EPA 13 Engine.
Anyone ran across this code
Hardware or software fault on CAN2 bus U1011 1231 2 M1 + R1 n Comprehensive
This was pulled with DPA5 Adaptor with their built in house software.
Symptom: Truck was in a pull going up 6% grade 80 ambient temp, truck flashed stop engine immediately red code, check came on and stayed lit, warning went away 1.5 seconds later. Filters were just pulled and cleaned about 4 days ago, 1.6 was the reading before the cleaning 1.1 after cleaning. Any ideas ?
DPF Cleaned
DEF Filter Replaced
OIl Change done all Paccar filters
Overhead ran to Paccar EPA13 Spec
Paccar MX-13 EPA 13 RANDOM CODE SPN 1231 FMI 2

Have ran across the code multiple times and have a Pete just starting to throw it once every couple days. I have replaced VGT actuator, BPV actuator, and repaired pins in harness for BPV and EGR valve to repair this fault on other units, so need to do meticulous troubleshooting because all the parts are pricey. Here is a troubleshooting guide that helps isolate the problem. Make darn sure you have good power and ground before condemning any part.

That code can be a real #####. Check the mega fuse on the rh side of the batt box. Give the cables a 10 pound pull test as the rear likes to corrode off. Turbo actuator wiring pigtail can sometimes get rubbed as well. After that its alot more indepth and more technical troubleshooting following the document @spsauerland posted.

I was wondering if you had any update in this issue. Had the same thing happen to me yesterday.
