    is this called a wastegate solenoid or a back pressure valve?

    It's to far back to be a waste gate. It's right in front of your 7th injector, so I would think it was a back pressure valve.

    I just replaced the turbo and two days later this solenoid/valve isnt closing the flap inside the pipe to build any pressure for the turbo. with the motor off and the key in the on position i hear this thing running but it wont move. kinda sounds like it has stripped out gears in it.
