I’m no longer there, so some of those questions I can’t accurately answer.

No fuel treatments, per the company. I ran Howes in the winter, on that truck.

No idea on complete specs. D13/I-shift 12spd. I can’t remember the gear, but, tall.

Both types of headlight housings. Not sure if something like the ‘23 is different. Could be. For sure, 1yr-old housings shouldn’t show hazing, halogen or LED housings.

The sensor issue just seems ridiculous. I had three sets of DPF sensors, a few engine sensors, and two trans sensors.

I-shift has a clutch actuator that’s known to be problematic. I don’t believe it’s driver-related, as it happened across the board.

I never used my bunk heater, either. But, noticed the coolant smell. When I went into the shop, dude was like “Oh yeah. Common. We keep them on the shelf.”.

Overall, I was less than impressed with mine, which was a ‘14. I loved the engine/trans combo, though. Then, getting into a 579 was an eye opener. My current T680 is better than the Volvo I had, as far as driving experience. They all have their pros/cons, I guess.

My 23 is hands down better than the 14 I had. I would never go back to a 14 and can never see going backwards over a gain. They are so much better even on the Emissions now. Thanks for the extra information as well. Always looking for information to get ahead of stuff if need be.

Yes, two hands to get it out of reverse and feeling like you will break the shifter. I didn’t want to say it because I didn’t want anyone thinking I was a Girlie-Man :)

Unfortunately, these displays are nowhere near the development or quality of a smart phone. You gotta’ understand, smart phone development started way back in the early 90’s, long before it was brought to market. And, it was being developed by some of the best technology people in the world; not some adapted BS some company had on the shelf.

Edit: What is in a semi-truck is many years behind what even the marine industry uses. It’s a bit of a joke, really.

So we want then to use the most robust and reliable system that doesn't break down as much but drives the cost up even more? I get what you are saying, but people pretending truck/engine mechanics stood around like the Maytag Repairman prior to 2007 drives me up a wall.

I’d be curious to see just how much the PACCAR digital dash costs, OTC, compared to a Garmin marine system, which integrates everything and is touch-screen.

Techs spent most of their time performing basic services and repairs, before DPF. Now, they spend most of their time performing diagnostics, chasing faults.

Back then a fella could fix an issue. Now he has multiple laptops and a team of idiots who still can’t figure out an issue.
