They are being built without the PM sensor and software adjusted accordingly since May
Due to shortage of Urea Quality /Level sensor for DEF tanks, a workaround is coming. My guess is will work like pre-16's and use Nox sensors to detect DEF quality, but those are in short supply too!

This is what I take from the report.
Paccar- we can’t make money because of emissions. So the government is bending rules for us.
Me- I’m still stuck with the rules and I’ll have to find a way to make money as a truck owner.
Big business in bed with the government nothing new. Little guy gets the hose.
How many guys got turned away from the dealer because of a delete? Now the manufactures delete when it’s tightened on their pocketbook!

It isn't a delete, emissions fully work. It is because shortage of parts. PM sensor helps detect soot past the aftertreatment. They are prone to failure and because microchip shortage very short in supply. The UQS sensor is in DEF tank and detects the concentration of DEF. They are prone to failure on own and some from bad coolant valve that is overheating the DEF tank. Trucks have been down for months needed the sensor. Paccar is just trying to use common sense to keep trucks on the road. This is not a hack job delete, but a repair until parts are available.daf105paccar, Goodysnap, JoeyJunk and 5 others Thank this.

Bull …. It’s turning some of the emissions sensors off and telling the truck to run……..,.,.

sounds like a duck to me ….,,

P.S. soot past the after treatment means out the stack into the environment……..Bill O’lading, Speed_Drums, Trucker61016 and 2 others Thank this.
