I have a friend that has worked there 2-3 years. Its a good fit for him. He lives near knoxville goes Pa and back, or somewhere in midwest

 

I’ve never worked there and I don’t know anyone that has but I’ve loaded alongside them many a time. They haul a lot of scrap. I say this because that’s a deal breaker for a lot of people. In my experience I would guesstimate 75% of drivers that quit end dumping do so because they’re sick of scrap loads. So just a fair warning.

 

Dude I don’t blame you. Im right there with you. In my experience the companies I see the least at scrapyards are Oakley out of N. Little Rock, AR and Bones out of Ottawa KS. They might haul it as a last resort to get them into a better area, but they’re not out there looking for it, if that makes sense. And any of those 2 mentioned that I’ve seen have been loading shred or turnings. Not frickin train axles and cut up airplanes, rail cars and woods mower decks

I didn't haul a lot scrap with JK Williams, I did do a little though, maybe try JK. Mostly stone and feed when I was there a few years ago. I was on the Michigan board not sure what the other dispatchers have.

 

C&W doesn’t do a lot scrap, they haul a lot of residue out of FL up to AL then landscape rock back. From what I understand their O/O’s run longer stuff, most of their company trucks run in the SE either dispatched out of Oxford AL or Winter Garden FL.

 

I meant to mention Bucheit as well, I’m not from the area but my wife is and the times I’ve traveled there, and seen them in the places I load they’re hauling sand, rock, feed, fertilizer, things of this nature.
