Hey!
I was wondering if someone can tell me if there's any company that offers paid CDL training even if I haven't had my US license for at least 1 year. I'm 29 and just came to the States from Germany like 4 months ago and I have had my US license for about 2 months now. I've had a German license for 7 years, but I never drove a truck before. There must be at least one company that would give me a chance. I have an absolutely clean driving record and I think I can even get it sent over here from Germany.
So far I already talked to:
Thanks for your help!

I don't know about paid training. But I can tell you this.
You are in the hiring area of Tyson so you might want to give them a call and see what they say. They seem to be a pretty decent company to be hired out of school. I would've hired on, but central florida is not in their hiring area. -
I moved here from England in '99.
Got my US license just before my CDL.
Got hired no problem as a rookie, but then found out I could get verification from England and they bumped me up.
There wasn't a need in '99 to have a car license for a year, so there shouldn't be now. A copy of your driving record from the EU wont hurt though.

Thanks for the tip Oi!. I'll give them a call tomorrow and ask about paid training.
leftlanetruckin, I already called the companies mentioned above and they all told me, that you need to have a US license for at least one year.
CR England even wanted two years. -
I know Hogan out of St. Louis, Mo. used to recruit drivers from foreign countries as well as Transco lines out of Russellville, Ar. (Australia). Just a couple of suggestions to check out.

Schneider Specialized didnt have a problem with me mate.
I know SS has since been sold to Maveric, but its still Schneider at the end of the day.
Try them to get yer feet wet, then go from there.
