Agreed.
The speeds governed are set to save a company money in insurance premiums.
We caught one company displaying 65 on the speedo when the trip averages kept pointing to 63. We put a GPS on it and it was confirmed to be a hidden 63 mph governor. It was enough of a difference to make appointment times in certain cases somewhat doubtful as a team. I remember wife and I leaving for LA and dispatch says we have 7 minutes to the good, can we be on time? We were with 3 minutes to go.
We certainly would have been half hour to a hour better than that if they allowed us at 70 which would be equal to a certain percentage of trucks in their fleet.
Bottom line, you as a driver hiring on to a fleet, you dictate nothing against what fleet policy is set.
Paid vacation every 30k or recruiter bull?
