I'm not going to get all down on PAM . They do have a few positive points. One being they have a decent CDL school and program to get you on the road in a short time. They do have good equipment. You are paid what is owed to you, never had an issue. What is true here like any company, your DM makes you, or breaks you. The ones here, are simply disconnected from caring about you. The miles are low, hence affecting pay. I have talked to some lease operators here that say the money is good, but the lease balloon at the end is ridiculous. I recommend PAM as a start, and that's all. Seeing how the DM's are here, I am hesitant to even go near the lease program . Soon, I am going team here with the wife, we'll see how the miles are .... or off we go to a greener field.

Yeah, it's a starter company, they don't care if you stay or go. On second thought, they probably have set their business model off of you quitting within the first few months
Mike2633 and Whiteline64 Thank this. -
I got my start at PAM , did my time and moved on.
It's a training company, they want the drivers to leave after the year so they can train more.Mike2633 and Whiteline64 Thank this. -
Yet they have drivers here for 10+ years.CrappieJunkie Thanks this.

My trainer worked there for 22 years.
Is Norma still there? She was the driver liaison?Whiteline64 Thanks this. -
Don't know her, I stay away from the company as much as possible.tucker Thanks this.

Wasn't good ol' Dave, by chance?
I ran for PAM for a while after they bought the outfit for which I worked... Took away my T2000 and had me go to Tontitown for "training" in an automatic. Basterds.
Norma talked me out of quitting quite a few times, but that was twelve or thirteen years back. Surely she's retired by now.Whiteline64 Thanks this. -
My trainer was Theo, he lived near Hope, AR, and I spent every weekend in The Rowdy Moose there, good times.
I figured Norma would be retired too, she actually suggested that I do like another driver and quit and haul new piggyback Peterbilts out of Brownsville, TX. I remember it paid a lot,
I still help the company PAMs back in a spot or slide their tandems if the need help, the owner ops I stay far away from,Whiteline64 Thanks this. -
I'll write a short update. I started to call other companies so that in 3 months, when my wife gets some experience, we both can leave PAM. There is no money here, there is no way to get any help from any office people here. This is a dead end company. They evidently make money by squeezing the life out of new drivers. Experienced drivers here like me are not wanted. After a 34 hr restart, they still have no work, but they have trucks coming in and out all day. Here it's all a game, and I'm tired of playing their game. PAM is the worste company I have seen so far. I can honestly say that SWIFT is a better company. And that speaks volumes.
Toomanybikes Thanks this. -
