Just received my CDL permit, contacted pam agent and received info on company. I saw on the website they're offering .17 cpm for team drivers starting out. They sweetened the deal up buy saying you get paid for both (yourself and team members miles). Im no veteran but that sounds pretty low to me. Is this normal or is this pay extremely low as im thinking. keep in mind i'll be a rookie driver never driven a truck before. I know you have to start somewhere but mannn!!! Help me out with your input you veterans please.:biggrin_25513:

Yes, team pay is split to both drivers. You get paid even when you're not driving and the other guy is. You should not be splitting .17 cpm; that's ridiculous. Maybe split .34 cpm for a short period then get a raise. You need to get a coast-to-coast turn operation to make really good money with teams. Check some more companies websites. They should have team pay listed. Benny Whitehead Trucking or Buel Inc. or System Transport or Navajo or Melton Truck Lines or Watkins & Shepard. There are many others also that hire new drivers.

That .34(cpm split) is AFTER training, and its on the low end of the pay scale.
