From what I understand, most PAM trucks are team trucks, trainer truck or not. But I do agree with the statement.
So many places are working hard to convert a large part of their fleet to team trucks. But there's not enough money in the world to get me to team unless she's smart, pretty, funny, and knows how to chain and run winter roads.

They have these on the local school busses and fuel trucks. The drivers I have talked to all love them and havent seen any significant sidewall damage from using themBud A. and RedBeardedT Thank this. -
Everything the DOT does is for safety it claims.
All drivers must get their rest.
A couple of them should hop in a truck and
Try to sleep in the bunk for 8 hours while
That truck is bouncing up and down.
There is no quality sleep running team.Oldironfan, Expeditor, Bud A. and 8 others Thank this. -
Oct. 8th, 1972, two brothers driving as a team for Johnson Motor Lines out of Charlotte, NC, went off the Newburgh Beacon Bridge into the Hudson River. My co driver and I left Charlotte with them on the way to North Redding, Mass. A Northeaster was blowing up the east coast. At Carlisle, Pa, me and my buddy decided we would go across the GW, the two brothers said they were going thru the Poconos. Upon arriving in North Redding, we were told about the tragedy. I never cross the Newburgh Beacon Bridge without thinking about this. At that time the bridge was only one span. The exact cause of the accident is still a mystery. Most probable cause was the weather and slippery roadway, but they crashed thru the guardrail and plunged into the Hudson.
Western flyer, bzinger and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
I wonder if he left the other driver to die.
-
I guarantee you if they didn’t drown then hypothermia quickly set in. And given the cold temperatures they would’ve only had seconds to get out of the truck and the water, R.I.P.

Is this one of those death hole overpasses? Illinois has a number of bridges which have open medians and no barriers inside the median to stop a wayward vehicle from careening into whatever lies below. I saw a driver die in Kankakee after he left the icy road from a curve and was caught in the hole before falling onto Grinnel Road. That median has since been sealed off.
