Either way that blows chunks. I was making more money driving solo for Western Express than what she’s making working for team at PAM.If that isn’t scary, I don’t know what is!

I used to work for one of the companies PAM had bought out ( all have since been merged into PAM ) started driving for them in '05 started at 15 left at 17.5 23 months later if I had stayed one more month I would've gotten another raise. Sad to see the pay is so low this many years later.

No amount of money in the world would be able to convince me to ever team drive. This might be an unpopular opinion but i believe there should be some form of restriction that prohibits truck from operating between the hours of 1 and 5 am. It seems a lot of these fatal accidents occur just after these hours of driving. I recall the fatal swift crash in GA was around the same time frame as this one.
Criminey Jade Thanks this. -
That is a very sad situation with a sadder sorry company. Another CDL mill craphole taking advantage of student's trying to do something different. Nothing returned & No call for anything. Cheapa**es should at least help with cost of a headstone. WOW.

That's for all miles the truck drives, not just his.
PAM team trucks are paid 30-40 cpm. For example, if they are on a dedicated run from Laredo to Detroit, they are running 6400 mi/wk.
So each driver is earning about $960/wk gross. -
Actualy the OP stated she was making 15 cpm, which in this day and age in the trucking world,is a SLAVE WAGE.
I made more than DOUBLE that rate running solo, and at that time I was working at Western Express. -
I worked for Wingate Taylor Maid in 1989. Fresh out of an excellent CDL school I earned 17cpm in 1989! Needless to say I only worked there for 1 yr & moved on to much greener pastures.Last edited: Sep 11, 2018

Same here. The tricky part is if a minimum wage is instituted half of these companies would complain that it would force them to go out of business.

Actually I've worked for PAM for almost 11 years, I think I know their pay scale better than you and her.
As I stated earlier she gets 15 cpm for ALL miles driven by both drivers, the truck is actually paid 30 cpm.
