So, Ive been offered some jobs through Driver Solutions with PAM, USA Truck, Averitt. I've chosen PAM Transport because of the sign on bonus, but... I really want to know, and I've never read anything to confirm my assumptions.

I've seen a "360 view" of the cab and I saw a laptop and I wondered if there is in-cab internet access. If there is not, thats okay i have a laptop of my own, and can get a broadband card if need be. As for the TV i saw in the 360 view, ive heard that some trucks have satellite tv. Not to sound to particular of the amenities, but the internet has been a big thing in my life, as I'm young (24) and depend on it ALOT.

I am pretty sure in most cases you will need to get your own aircard/broadband access. It seems from what i have read that i think sprint/verizon has the best access. You can check out the internet forums to double check on this though.

I have several friends that drive for PAM Transport (I went through Driver Solutions and decided for USA Truck instead) and they do NOT provide you with a laptop. You'll have to bring your own and your own broadband card as well if you want to get on the internet.

The 360 views are more of a "suggestion of what to put here" than what comes in the truck, obviously they don't provide a TV or anything like that, either :)

Hi Truckingirl, You mentioned you got some friends who work for PAM, I sent my application to some companies, so far I am almost decided por PAM, I read all brouches about this company and I already talked to a recrutier...Is this an ok company to work for?

I have read so many bad things about Stevens and CR that I was surprised...So just would like some feedback about PAM.

    Thank you

    Edwin

I have checked around with two of my buddies that have been truck drivers for a few years and they told me that P.A.M. is a pretty good company to work for. They haven't heard any real bad complaints like some of the other companies like CR England and U.S. Express. I signed up through Drivers solutions also and signed up for P.A.M. also they have the one of the highest starting pays for people like us they start out at 28 cents a mile with raises every three months for the first year. And with the sign on bonus they pay you $500 dollars the when your with the trainer and the other $500 when you complete 90 days of service.

Thank you ace for the feedback, I have been talking to my recruiter and I think I'll go for training in the 24th. I will keep updating, I'm glad I found this site,
