    Questions:

    1. How long have you been driving solo?
    2. Truck specs. How fast is your truck?
    3. Can you fuel anywhere, or do you have specific fuel spots?
    4. How many miles do you get in a week on average? If you dont get any miles, theres really no point, is there?
    5. When I was a company driver, I wanted $200/day for every day I ran. Minimum. How many miles do you have to run to make $200?

Remember that any day you max your hours the DOT will go over with a fine tooth. Always make it look like your running easy.

There is no magic tip to maximize, wether it's e-log or loose leafs.

One thing for sure choose the right carrier with the right lanes and good condition then make sure left door stay closed with you on the seat minimize door openings that's pretty much what you have control of for the rest make sure your dispatch knows about your intentions.....
    Good luck!

pay and get DDL and keep a printer in your truck! They are paper logs but you keep them on a computer! It will show you how to split 8-2, has USA and Canadians rules. As soon as you get stopped and you show an officer 7 printed sheets and you ask him to give you 2 minutes to print your current day, you are out of trouble! The software is 55 $ and I used it since I started trucking (that is 11 years ago)! It is worth the money! They have regular updates as the law changes!

Just search DDL on google and stop at the site that looks like 1988! no fancy stuff on the web site but only the best software! + it helps when you do your taxes if you learn to make reports! for example how many days you worked last year!

Wake up 60-100 miles further from where you parked to take your 10. Did that for decades and never got caught. Easy-peasy. Don't fuel or cross any risky scales or do any toll roads except in the day when you're Mr. legal eagle.
End place and begin place and everything that happened in between were always truthful, nobody bothered to turn the page to compare locations.

It's only 1,300 miles from Chickendale, Ar to Los Angeles, CA

Just don't screw up when you're "sleeping". I have a feeling the forum police will take this post down, anyway.

Not sure to follow! personally I think of myself as the biggest lie-booker ever! I put millage on every stop so any officer can deduct that I am legal. The difference between paper and e-logs is the time spent at the customer!

There is no customer that will allow you to stay on the property once loaded or unloaded! but that is when the paper log books make an advantage when you want to roll! if you can bring your time spent loading and unloading together you can make often a 8 hours break! you can always make a 2 hours break and sometimes even 10!

Yes you will be tired on the road but that gives you the chance to go a few hundred miles and stop after you are calm and not thinking any more about what a piece of #### the reciver was taking an hour break when he had one pallet in your truck!

I guess he is payed by the hour and hi has a union! NOT US TRUCK DRIVERS!
