You can go to truck miles to help with the routes and then click on "find truckstops along route" That will keep you from having to purchase it right now. Also a peice of rebar was sticking out of the curb and just sliced your back right trailer tire.:biggrin_25510:

you missed the first post where i said this takes into consideration nothing but the fuel and weekly truck payment. unless i can get a breakdown of all the necessary permits to add to the cost. as for everything. breakdowns and such. those are considerations that you all will have to account for when considering being a O/O.

thanks for the truck miles tip. that could be really handy.

I constantly use it and bounce the routes off of what I come up with off the Map and the GPS.
I saw the first part, I was just getting into the spirit of the exercise.:biggrin_25520:

yep, i'm doing a tactical exercise, and it ain't looking good. that truck payment was due today and sucks. although it didn't put me close to my lowest negative point so far.

ok, here's the update. remember, we started off with 200 gallons of fuel off the bat in salt lake city, our first load went to abbeville, sc. we left wednesday, had to sit for the weekend. delivered monday morning at 8. actual miles=2018. paid miles=1987

here's the breakdown. i'm getting lazy to find prices so i'm just going to use average of $2.65. planning the papertrail is enough work as it is. prices might vary but 10-15 cents. roughtly $20-$30 variance. give or take. i'm also posting fuel as it's used along the route and not by the trip. (the logbook kinda sucks too. thank goodness it's a computer and not a book.) that's a lot of writing to be jiggling around.

    200 gallons -$560
    110 gallons -291.50
    150 gallons -372.25
    total cost -$1223.75
    load pay 1987 x .85 1688.95
money in bank $465.20 we're now in positive, but it won't last long.

emptied by 9 am. 43 miles deadhead to trenton, s.c. pick up load by 1:30 pm. delivering to millwood, ky. 10:00 am. actual=535. paid=518. pickup monday 130. delivery tuesday 1000.

starting capitol for this trip $465.20
    142 gallons -376.30
    load pay 518 x .85 493.85
    money in bank $582.75
    truck payment -650
    account in negative -$67.25

emptied by 10 am. 32 mile deadhead to bowling green, ky. pick up load by noon. tuesday pickup going to austin, tx. delivevery thursday noon. actual=921 paid=898

    starting capitol -$67.25
    183 gallons -484.95
    money in bank -$417.70
    load pay 898 x .85 $763.30
    money in bank $345.60

looking at the boards. might be more deadhead then i would like to get out of austin. have to see what happens in the morning when i arrive for delivery.

lesson learned last week. try to get a load to keep running through the weekend. and do your parking for 34 hours during the week. labor day weekend, might be tough this week.

and that load to augusta georgia got appointed before i could call in. thus the change in second load.

we're going to start making this story as short and sweet as possible. basically getting right to the point so there's not a lot of reading. and i'm getting old, i need to save the wear and tear on the fingers. :biggrin_25520:

Doesnt look too bad. Good that you are doing that, brings reality to life. Not a lot of money, but I would guess that you'd pop on a decent load sooner or later. Keeping that lucky streak alive is the tough part.
