PTI
-are you OTR or local? -
I would be local if I take the position. It is dray work / rail-yards. I wanted to get some info on the company before I changed jobs. I am now working for Conway LTL. I am tried of being a forklift driver and not a truck driver so I am looking at Paper Transport or Foodliner's

I thought Green Bay shut down that rail yard (CN Canadian National) = You will be running down to Chicago (or maybe Milwaukee) and back. ~200 miles each way to Chicago, I43 (easy), Racine/Kenosha I94 is being worked on = 2 lanes, I294 Chicago is fairly good now.
Could also just be shuttling trailers between the GB mills, Neenah/Menasha, Appleton etc.
Are they paying by the mile or hour. Hourly would be preferred for local and maybe even down to Chicago (traffic tie ups). I43 in the Winter can get windy and even icy.TruckZorro Thanks this. -
I am suppose to be running to the Chicago Rail yards from the surrounding states Ill, Ind, Mich, Wis, IA. Home daily (at least that is what they are saying). I have a concern as they are talking about a lease truck program. I really don't like the sound of that. Will get more details later this week.

TruckZorro Thanks this.

Looks like I am going to say yes to Paper Transport. You can't get ahead if you don't take some risks. Plus I really don't like being a driver/forklift operator at Conway.

I checked into PTI and from what I learned is they are a growing regional carrier. They do mostly dedicated freight for a paper company. They run out of the Jacksonville/Palatka areas, Cedar Springs and albany GA areas, Muskogee OK and Green Bay WI. when i spoke to the guy he said they don't have much for turnover in FL and OK most of the hiring is done due to growth.. sometimes they will have a waiting list of drivers to hire
