Hello guys my school so far is going pretty well gotten good at straight line backing but driver side parallel parking is killing me. I always manage to have the trailer diagonally in the cones with very little room to keep backing. Im lost

When you set it up, look at it as 2 45s. When you start heading into the hole, don't aim for the corner, aim about 15 feet further forward.

My instructor keeps saying to aim for a cone but you got to turn hard left and theres just a couple inches between the cone and rear bumper. Either I'm cutting the wheel too fast or holding it too long

The way I was taught was when lining up put the front cone between the tandems about 4-6 feet away. Hard right to put the trailer in the hole hard left to straight then back straight until your tandems are just inside the cones. You should be able to get out and looking down from the front middle cone to the back cone it should be in the triangle of the dot bumper. Then hard left to swing the trailer back straight and hard right to straighten the truck.

It's a pain in the ### maneuver you'll probably use once in your while driving career lol

Parallel is all about setup. If you can setup correctly you'll get it if you don't you'll play hell trying to get it in the hole.

My instructor keeps saying you want the rear bumper a foot in front of the first cone and about a foot to the right of the cone then hard right to get in the hole aiming for a cone then a hard left to straighten

If you do that you'll push the trailer right into the middle cone and hit the front cone when you bring the truck back around... I'm sure there is more than one way to do it but if his method isn't working for you then you need to find one that does.

Setup like I said. First cone between the tandems about 3-6 feet away and do your maneuver. See if that doesn't help
