Agreed, but it still just irks me the people who are texting on their phone (and trust me this is why someone will slam into the back of a trailer on the shoulder) to get a huge award because they drive off the road into the back of a parked truck that’s on the shoulder. It’s none sense

 

Most 4wheelers have absolutely zero awareness or care for anything on the side of the road. I used to do heavy towing and no one would move over, no one cared.
Fast forward to present day….Im typically 12 or more wide…think anyone cares NOPE….I try to move over to the left lane to not kill a stranded motorist on the side of the road with a D8 dozer blade what do they do…speed up and start squeezing around my wide load scared to death I’m getting in front of them. It’s absurd and we get the #### end of the stick when one these ### hats runs into us.

Hopefully he had his triangles out but we probably never now if they find that out. Unless the triangles are still inside the truck parked on shoulder.

 

I'm with you. There are plenty of US highways that have parking even though the speed is 55 or faster. There is no excuse to hit a vehicle that is not in the travel lane.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m against the shoulder parking. And yes it may be illegal. That doesn’t take the fault away from the moron drivers hitting them.
