Has anyone had trouble finding parking spots at truck stops?
Also, the quality of the stops seems to be going down. Do you agree??

There's plenty of parking. Anymore most of the supertruckers park in the fuel isle, next to the NO PARKING signs along the curbs, or next to the scale, right in front of the entrance to the store or restaurant, or in the middle of driving aisle between the spaces.

So true. Was in Montana and driver of flatbed was told to move and he became indignant and left. It amazes me when someone knowing does something wrong then gets po'd when called out on it.Lonesome Thanks this.

I'm amazed at the laziness of some drivers. Occasionally, pulling into a truck stop in the evening hours after dark, I see trucks beside the scale, in the driveway, beside the pumps, and I think to myself "this place is full, try the next one" but as I drive thru the back lot there are dozens of open spaces. WTF people? Can't you walk the extra 100 yards? Maybe the extra exercise would do them some good... I prefer to park in the back so that I intentionally have a long walk to the store.

You might be onto something there....
I was at the Love's near Orlando, FL and sitting in my truck eating a sandwich, watched a Swifty almost take off the front end off a Western Star, that dude couldn't park a short stick up a fat hog's #####mikley28 Thanks this. -
finding a legit spot isn't too difficult for me since i drive during the vampire hours. by the time i'm getting off the road, the truck stop i'm pulling in to is or has been cleared out. even then i still park fairly far away from the building because there is nothing wrong with walking. plus the rows closer to the building tend to be inundated with drivers who have annoying rat-dogs, people who feel the need to blast their music, and others who cannot figure out how NOT to pull all the freakin' way though their spot, blocking in the driver(s) on their sides. oh yeah, and it usually reeks of ammonia up front.

Kind of depends on what part of the country your in and what time of the day your trying to find one. As to quality...well the lots have been getting worse in just the 19 mos I've been out here. Don't know whether its because they've got captive audiences or if its money. As for the stores and the cafes, usually stay out of them. Do like the TA's ham and eggs if I have enough credits tho!!!! Some of their cokks even understand over easy!!

Parking spots can be hard to come by late at night. I generally stop before dark if I can, and can almost always find a spot at my truck stop of choice. Occassionally, I have to go for my second choice, but not often.

I'm amazed at how sometimes a Love's or Pilot will be full with trucks parking all over the place on the street and ramps all around. And then I go 10 or 20 miles down the road to some no-name place and there is plenty of parking. I guess people want their free showers and a wi-fi hotspot. That's understandable, but more than that, I want a safe place to park.
Then, of course, in certain areas of the country, you're out of luck after 3pm unless you pay or find some industrial area street parking.
