In the past, I always parked at a company terminal. One time I parked at a hotel where I stayed one night, but they allowed me to leave it there another two. This time I'll be around Stockton CA and think I may have to leave it at a truckstop for 4 days while I'm in another city.

Do truckstops look to punish or prosecute drivers doing that? Is it better to park in the front or the back? Would it be better to drop my trailer at a yard and just park bobtail at the truckstop? Also, what about those pay 'reserve' spots at some TA and Petro? Would they let you pay for several days even if you weren't in the truck? Thanks for any advice and tips.

you can't just park it at a trailer/rv storage place for a few days? Call around and see if they'll give you a pro-rated rate. Or maybe just pay for the whole month. Might be worth it vs getting your stuff towed or get a ticket at the truckstop

Thanks, I will look into that. I tried to do an Internet search before on paid parking for trucks in that area but couldn't come up with anything. I don't think an RV place would allow a 53' trailer but I'm not sure. I had friends in the Bay Area say "oh, you can park at our house" but they have no idea the actual size of tractor and trailer (plus low wires, etc).

Unless it's a small truck stop. They won't even notice. They don't go out and do checks. Plus guys get stuck in California all the time and sit for 2 or 3 days. So they probably will think you are a O/O waiting for some high dollar freight. It's always best to go ask the cashier or manager and they probably will say no problem.

Most truck stops allow it a long as you give them your info so they know how long your gonna be there UNattended.

Park it out of the way and take your valuables with you. The major chain truck stops won't pay any attention to it.

You re fine. Some people sit 4 days waiting on freight. I use to do it at the pilot in Minooka for 4 days and that place is a cluster. I Always Found a spot I could nose in b so I didn't have to worry bout someone taking off my hood

Why not just leave it at the Crete drop yard in Stockton? That's what i used to do when I was there and would take 2 weeks off.

Always ask for permission. The people who say I'll just park here and not let anyone know are the ones who get towed and ticketed.
