Can you cite the CFR number for this? I'd like to be able to point it out in the green book if and when I get hassled over it.

Just paint up your truck to look like a landscaper's truck. They park wherever they want!

The best ticket I got by a rookie cop was in the town where my company is located.. I was taking my truck to the shop for some repairs car in front of me slamed on there brakes I did the same the trailer brakes locked up for a second. just happened to be a cop behind me pulls me over comes an said that was quite a smoke show I had no clue what he was talking about (I didnt know they locked up) then I told him the car in front me slamed there brakes on would have rather I hit the car?? (speed limit was 45) he then said he was behind me and the car didnt make a sudden stop..I asked if he was behind me how could see what the car did?? so he writes me a ticket for ??? screeching and squealing.. He asked If I had any questions? well of course I did.. So I asked if he thought It was stupid that I was getting a ticket for screeching and squealing.. So I go to court the DA tried to get me to take court supervision I passed on that she said well he will just tell the judge that I was speeding I said well then he should have wrote me a ticket for speeding then... go before the judge.. Judge asked was you driving a semi? um yes he said was the trailer empty um yes.. are you missing work to be here um yes... He apologized for the cops stupidity a few time to me and proceeds to ream the cop a new ###.. telling its a waste of tax payers money and mine for missing work and to never pull a semi over again for something so stupid and If he is going to be pulling semi's over the he should take a course in DOT regulations.. this judge reamed him so hard I thought the little 21 yr old or so he looked that age was gonna cry.... as i walked out of the court room I said to him told you I would win....:biggrin_255:

I hear this line so many times. If its going somwhere I dont want to go that is illigal I tell them to write me a letter saying they take full responsability, will pay any ticket/fine.

I always find it funny how they sudenly change there mind when the responsability comes back on them.

were you delivering to the guy that told you to leave? I used to deal with this a few times when i was peddling, I used to go to my next stop and take his whole order back to the warehouse, guy called and asked where his delivery was, I was allways nice to my dispatcher and did anything they asked, and I find that in doing so they will stand up more for their driver, after they guy had to wait a day or two for his order a few times he kind of got the hint,

as for parking, fire/police spots, handicap spots, cross walks, and blocking any fuel pumps at gas stations are off limits, anything else is fair game

Ive been told a few times. Your truck is to big come back with a smaller truck. I gladly leave his parking lot. Let the boss know that he wants a delivery from a smaller trailer. They usually see us in anthor week. They never tell me to come back with a smaller truck more then once.

Speaking of people telling you trucks do it all the time. Had a delivery yesterday. Route had directions on how to get there since one of the roads to get there was closed for construction. Basicly its a 1 lane each way middle of no where road. Im happy that they gave me "good directions how to get there. Come around to the end of the detror. 11 foot bridge. no truck roads to get around on. Finnaly get turned around, get back to the road thats under construction. I stop and ask the construction worker if he has any idea how to get to my stop. He looks at me like im an idiot. "follow the bleepin detour signs". My response to him was what about that 11 foot bridge. "Oh I didn't think about that. Well i got my low boy under it you should be fine". Thinking to myself id rather not attempt to put a 13 6 trailer under a 11 foot single lane bridge.
