I tried to find this answer but didn't see a thread on it. Where do you all park your trucks when on Home time? My county has an ordinance prohibiting parking commercial vehicles in residential areas so can't park at home. There is a pilot five minutes from me but I'm guessing they would frown on parking there for longer than overnight. So I am looking for suggestions on parking. Roehl no longer has a drop yard in my area.
Parking on hometime?

I would just park at the Pilot.
I have always parked at Truckstops when I could never had an issue.
Shut the Curtains nobody would know you aren't really inside of your truck.Phantom Driver Thanks this. -
You should be able to get around that law. That is your job. Only thing with getting around those laws is you have to park in your yard. Either way, I've always just parked mine in town at restaurants with truck parking.

A lot of companies have a policy against parking in an unsecured lot for hometime. You might have some explaining do if you come back after 4 days off and the bumper is laying on the ground or you are missing a mirror.
Some companies have shippers in the area that may allow you to park there. You will need to call Roehl and find out what your options are.TRKRSHONEY and Phantom Driver Thank this. -
Sometimes other trucking companies will let you park on their lot " If you ask first" show some manners it goes a long way sometimes

Might be a small company around with a yard that will let you park for a fee. I know a guy with 3-4 trucks that I park at. Tow companies also will often let you park for a fee. You said there's no parking in residential areas. See if there is a warehouse or something around that'll let you park. A place I go to a lot has 5-6 guys that don't even pull loads out of their warehouse and they let them park.

You should be OK parking at the Pilot. However, don't make it obvious with Wifey pulling up in her Toyota and you un-loading your stuff then driving away. I've never seen any truck stop employees at any truck stop ever outside the store area, the exception being Flying hook grunts washing the fuel island. (during the busy periods).

Or just work for a company near your house and park the truck in their yard and they
can service it while you are at home. Working for companies across the country from home is just ridiculous.Phantom Driver Thanks this. -
Best to ask your company where you can park. If you leave it un-secured and it is stolen or trashed, guess who will be looking for a new job.

We always park at a Kenworth or Peterbilt dealership, or at a ThermoKing (we haul reefer). Our company runs mostly Petes and KWs so they have an arrangement about the trucks. I would be a little leery about leaving it a a T/S unless you are going to be checking on it daily.
