How far are you with your classes and how things are going on? I would like to take the CDL classes at HCC. I have reviewed the HHC website and would like you to inform me about the following. I read on the website Prof driver I and Prof driver II. Can you explain me what are these 2 levels? Are both level required for the CDL? Also, are the 7 weeks training for both Prof Driver I and II or just for one? Finally does HCC has job placement services? Do you see recruiting company there for students ready to graduate?
Thank you very much -
I'm into my 4th week of the 7 week course. All is going very smooth and I'm enjoying the experience.
The school breaks it down into 2 sections when looking online, but it's actually just one 7 week course, split between classroom and driving. The first 3 weeks is class room and the last 4 are driving. HCC doesn't really have job placement, but there are many recruiters from various companies that come by and see the class and fill you in on what they offer, hand out apps, etc. I already had several pre-hires before school started (I suggest anyone do the same), therefore I really didn't need the schools help, but my instructor knows a ton of them and will help you get in touch with the right people at different companies.

Hey Sly,
Thank you so much for the info. Can you let me know how difficut is the CDL class? (lot of memorization...studying...?) Also do you have an estimate of the minimum starting salary since you did not get sponsoedr by a truck company for your training. I mean you directly paid for your traning). Are hiring company from texas or anywhere in the US>
Again thank you so much for your reply... -
A suggestion, I went here :
http://www.truckingtruth.com/cdl-training-program/ and learned everything I needed to pass all my written exams at the DPS office without every cracking a book. It's a very in depth free online training program......there is also a forum there if ya browse around and find it, plus a TON of great info and great people.
