First off I am new here and love the wealth of info on this site and could read it for hours on end. My question is that PP now sells a new muffler that is like $20 more than "their original" (Donaldson M100463) that supposedly has better flow and a louder sound. Does anybody know the Donaldson # for it or is it actually something they make on their own. Thanks to all in advance.:biggrin_25514:

Unless they just came out with this muffler in the last two weeks..........it's the same muffler with a new price. PP had a Donaldson M100463 on display in their booth at the truck show I was at Oct 16 in Dozwell VA.

Please excuse my ignorance. I over-read the parentheses (Donaldson M100463)

This is what their site says about the mufflers. Pasted it right from it, pics of them wouldn't transfer for some reason. Sounds to me like they definitely have a new one. I am assuming the $158 one is the 100463. I know their website has had some updates because now they have videos uploaded about some of their stuff. One of which is about their "new" muffler.

Here is the full description of the "new" muffler

    Performance Sport

    51.5" universal stack muffler

The Performance Sport is a new type of flow though muffler using a series of small sound catching cups or louvers to dampen sound. Acoustic louver sound dampening is nothing new but we have brought this technology to the trucking industry in our new line of performance mufflers. This muffler is a universal fit and will fit in most trucks. This muffler and other acoustic louver sound dampening mufflers are directional. This type of muffler is noticeably louder but dampens the harsh tones you would otherwise hear with straight pipes.

    51.5"L 10"W 5" inlet 5" outlet

These mufflers are not suitable on trucks with DPF systems

Walker makes flow throughs that are basically a big resonator, just a funnel at the top and bottom nothing in the middle, you could drop a baseball through one.

I have a pair on mine and was very surprised at how much faster it revs with them at first it was hard to keep it below 1500 rpm going through the lower gears....best part is that they were about $70 per.
