I thought I don't need to mention fuel pump setting because that's where you set the power to where you want it to be, those parts just makes it possible.
You can take stock NTC400 and with only pump work you can get 600-650 hp, whereas with 3406 that is about maximum you can get with all high performance parts if using Cat fuel pump. So with Cummins that is where the real tuning starts and it ends at about 1100 hp.

What do say to all these people on here that are saying they crack blocks, blow head gaskets, break cranks, etc? -
To get that kind of horsepower, I know first hand you better get the aluminum pistons coated, I believe its ceramic to with stand the heat.

Don't be like that! I'm just stating what I've already heard. If you guys have owned Big Cams that have had the problems you've experienced then I'm all ears, but you said yourself, Smokin, that your Big Cam hasn't had any problems, yes?
the old 4 and quarter Cat was a killer engine, but as I said, they're not option.
I'd love some help with this engine if you guys can. -
Besides completely rebuilding one after the pistons had melted to the liners, no I havent had many issues, but the hottest one doesnt work either, its just a toy. It would have to be turned down a decent ways to where it would live on the road.

I can cope with a melted piston, it'll give me an excuse to rebuild it!

Hopped up PT Cummins needs a driver who knows how PT system works. Caterpillar is more tolerant to driver abuse.
