They called me, I run my own auto transport company, and said they were looking for O/O to pull their trailers. I asked what their ppm was, after she told me, I laughed at her and hung up.

well i see they even let recruters post on here. :biggrin_2552: i just want to respond to the negative posts i have seen on this forum....99% ARE TRUE....

PTL is the worst trucking company to work for I have seen in 28 years of driving experience...

I leased 1 of their so called great trucks and drove for just over 1 month..

    5/16/11 to 7/1/11

out of 5 paychecks 4 were under $400 and 2 were under $60...I havent recieved my final check yet. I will not go into all the details here..but if anyone wants to pm me I will try to answer your questions.

Bottom line PLEASE dont go to PTL all you will get is ripped off and BROKE

This is an offer worth considering. First, the trucks are LOW MILEAGE and will be less prone to break down compared to a truck with one million miles. Second, the trucks have a 30 day bumper to bumper warranty. If something is already broken or ready to break, there is a high probability that any defects will surface in the first 30 days of ownership.

The free base plates coupled with rider and pet programs is iceing on the cake! If I was a trucker, I'd carefully consider this offer! I suspect the competition for these coveted postions is fierce! Finally, every driver qualifies. Nobody like rejection and that word appears to be eliminated from the equation.

I can't believe you guys aren't jumping on this like flies on horse poop!

These trucks come from Quality Lease out of Indianapolis In. The trucks themself are from Crete. A 30 day bumper to bumper but have a full warranty on the engine and drivetrain. Its $570.00 a week for 36 months with a $1.00 buy out. With PTL. you are paid $.90 a mile plus surcharge, plates are furnished but you pay for the rest, they stick you on the qualcomm fee's. But they do not pass on the fuel discount or fuel rebate to the owner operator, They claim there is no discount but there is, So i'm to assume they put it back in thier pocket. Also they have a pogram in place is someone calls in and says you dont have a padlock on your trailer you get fined $25.00 and the snitch gets it, even if its on you get stiffed.

Shucks! They had me until the "36 months" part. I won't go a day over 33.

ya know what.....I just signed on with them. I've done one l/p in the past, I did fine, kept my books, watched every penny that went in or out, I knew exactly what I was being paid. I failed at it due to wrong company, tried to be solo in a team company, but I broke even or was ahead every single week. Now after running the numbers, minus the maint you decide keep. All you have to run each week just to break even on payment and all fixed expenses is 505miles a week. You all can talk your b/s, but I'm confident that I'll succeed.
Just need to learn to run 55-60. Also I bet half of the "I tried it, their designed to fail" people, only failed cause they idled constantly, drove the truck like they stole it, never kept even a loose leaf of loads, pay per loads, fuel, and all other expenses. Also just cause you have the "freedom" to turn down a load doesn't mean you should.
In my previous l/p, I never turned down a single load unless I didn't have the hours to run it. I'm 22 years old, I've succeeded where others flat fall on their face with twice my age, and four times the experience level I have. I don't have great credit, mommy and daddy doesn't pay for anything, I'm married even. I'll even tell ya I worked for CRST and still payed my bills, I only left because I got tired of finding my own freight (i.e solo in a team company remark).
I'm very optimistic despite all negative remarks, so I will keep everyone happy and post my statements, I'll combine em and post them month by month. If I fail here at PTL I'm man enough to admit defeat, but if I succeed are ya'll man enough? I've talked to many o/o's who started as lease ops, but funny how they succeeded an own their trucks. There are companies designed to fail, but there are also ones not. Its funny how even the ones where people succeed there is a bunch of posts about how their designed to fail.
