Like the title says. Pre-hire from Trans Am for me and my brother. Does the board have any advice for us? We are looking to team drive, don't mind automatics (even though we like manuals) and are not too concerned with frequent hometime. Every 6 weeks would be fine for me.
What can you all tell me about Trans Am right now?

Hey jeepskate, CONGRATULATIONS to you and your brother. I don't know a thing about Trans Am but, my advice to you guys is the same I got when I first started driving and that is, "you are the captain of your ship" and "never let anyone else drive your truck". I don't mean physically drive it either. It may take you a while to understand what the last one means but when it dawns on you it will make a big difference the driver you become. Good luck to you guys and always be careful.

I am there if you dont mind staying out you can make a decent living.
You come home plan on 2-3 weeks havin crappy paydays.
Just keep up with everything sooner or later they will "Forget to pay for that lumper","are that layover pay if your empty and they preplan they try to say your loaded dont let um lie ,you get paid if its over 24 hours till the frieght hits the wagon not till you get the load on your screen unless you drive over 200 miles that day to get there then you will have to wait on the 2nd day." (Tip if you been there all day and your load is ready grab it go to the truck stop and let the 24 finish before you send in your loaded call and you get the 85 bucks why sit all day for free?)
And keep up with all trips for Fsc This is the pet peve I have with um every week the Fsc is off by 10 -20 cents per trip not much but ads up.
They can ad the miles and pay and everything else but cant ad the Fsc?
And stay on the dispatchers rear about being preplaned ,Preplans are the way to make money here you need to be loaded before your empty otherwise you will be waiting.
And be prepared to sit at meat houses about 50% of the time my load is ready before i get there the other 50% i have to wait 24-48 hours and get sleep its never ready in the daytime always 3-4 am :O.
overall there not bad I just dislike there planners really need to learn there jobs sometimes.treat it like a biz and you can make a decent living I avg solo driver though 2500-3700 miles per week .
