I was issued a brand new 2020 w/ no cams. I think you'd be surprised to get a new truck w/ that stuff. An older truck? sure. A newer one, I don't think they have the time or manpower to get them installed.
Passed TMC's 3-week CDL orient, today I head out for OTR training

VERY interesting!... Does your's have all the lane departure stuff, then?
-
Yup, all of that safety stuff.
-
I see... Well, that can be a good thing, Farva. Alot of people view it as a negative, but it will/can actually make a better driver out of a person. I've been around both blocks in twenty three years, and have learned the lane departure deal proves "honesty" on a drivers part.

The smart cruise in combo w/ collision avoidance does help prevent critical events.TrooperCat Thanks this.

The biggest gripe I have with that is when the collision avoidance signal bounces off a highway sign and tricks the computer into thinking I’m about to hit something.
First time it did that made for a real ###* me moment as it slammed on the brakes out of the blue. -
Is it mandatory to have a 34 hour reset even if you want to stay out 2 weeks long?
What about fueling, where do you guys fuel? And can you fuel at any preferred truckstop or does TMC have selected truckstops along the route where they want you to fuel? -

Reason for edit: I interjected into the middle of their story. -
You’ll end up doing the reset because the vast majority of flatbed customers aren’t open on Saturday or Sunday.SuperRookie, Speed_Drums and Farva Thank this.
-
You'll have to take a 34 every weekend regardless of how long you stay out, and where you go.
As for fuel, we only fuel at places offering Pilot/Flying J fuel.Midlife Trucker, SuperRookie, JackMac and 1 other person Thank this.
