And kudos to you for getting these loosers off of the road!

OTOH, its a tool like anything else. These folks could have run across a scale and have gotten away with it just as easily as not running across the scale at all. Besides, you can always set the system to bring everyone in, and inspect everyone. Might cause a bit of traffic jam though!

Enough random inspection failures will eventually degrade a carriers safety rating to the point that they will all be coming into the scales PrePass or not. It goes back to how the carrier conducts its business, and the kind of driver they employ. Don't you agree?

True, and your right the odds of getting them at the scale are slim.

Yes, thank you very much for getting the drunks off the road. Who would of thought? I thought them days ended a long time ago for truckers. I guess I'm wrong and that raises new thoughts. I always wondered why it's okay to sell beer in truck stops. Some states even sell liquor. Kind of convenient for an alcoholic.

Prepass is a ticket to ride. As it serves the good driver/company, it serves the bad driver as well. It defeats the purpose of a weigh station.

How does GA suspend a license from another state? Do they call the offenders state DMV and request that they suspend the license?

Let me get this striaght, you're saying that the DOT is 100% justified in giving you a citation for blowing a scale when they are purposely trying to trick a driver into thinking they can bypass it?

In Iowa they use the old, turn the 'open' sign on at the last second... Pulled my buddy running behind me over at the next exit, did a level 2 then started to write i citation of blowing the scale.. Buddy says WTF it was CLOSED... DOT cop says, "nope, it was OPEN'. Buddy asks about a road camera? DOT cop says, "yeah we got one". Buddy says, "I got a dash camera too"... "I'll save and review it quick"... DOT cop tells him to get the hell out of there... LOL!

    Mike,

Did Georgia suspend your privilege? If so, my guess is there was a citation of some sort that was not taken care of. I see it all the time, and sometimes the driver's "home" State is never notified of the suspension as they are supposed to be.

The one on the DC Beltway is a joke, seems like half the drivers just pass it. You could make a reasonable argument that the self-important burecrat in the next lane wouldn't let you change lanes to get to it. And I don't even know how they can see the main road from that chicken coop so far up the trail.

I call it "the toilet bowl" because all you do is circle and circle and out you go. They don't even have scales there! But they do seem to catch a lot of rigs with random inspections.

That is so true dieselbear! My dad is on a contact list for a few of the scales around here, and goes to drive trucks from the scale to the truck stops if the driver needs to be able to take care of something. I had to go with a couple times to drive my dad's car as the driver's license had been suspended. My dad does get paid for this by the company or the O/O. He even had to teach one guy how to do his log books once!
