I go threw there a lot, no matter what sign or prepass says to go I go. Prepass green, sign says enter I drive by, Prepass Red, sign says by pass I drive by. If I get a red prepass and a all trucks enter I go in. ANd I have been handling the I40 eastbound that way since 2000.

whatever works for you powder joints. I check things out and if in doubt I'll do the safe thing. Like I said I'm a tight fisted girl scout.
-
I usually follow other trucks around the Greenbelt station at I95/495, on green, because it is far and out of sight from the hwy .
How many bypass that one?

I-10 and I-40 going into AZ (east bound)...I don't ever remember getting a red on my PP...I don't think they want to do any more "potential paperwork" than necessary!
I-80 WY...both directions and I-25 (north)...never a Red! -
Enjoy running the scales whenever ya'll feel like it! Just remember in Georgia, besides the fine, its a 90-day manditory suspension of your CDL if the bears decide to take issue with it.

We did one day get a red on I10 going into AZ from CA. I was shocked. There was no problem of course as I'm OCD about weight, tandems, and paper work lol. -
I still not sure what the rule is on red light on pp but ramp is full. does this mean bypass cause thats what i have all ways done to avoid coming to an all most dead stop on the I.

You just said the same thing I did ! If your pre-pass is red you must stop at an open scale. I learned this the hard way about 10 years ago in Nebraska. The scale sign said bypass but my pre-pass was red. 1/4 mile down the road and here they come. I had to double back and pay a fine. They told me that my pre-pass overides their scale sign. Of course if the scale is closed you don't stop...plain common sense.

So now we all know what the red and the green lights are for, but what the hell is the yellow light for? Ive never had it come on but im sure its there for a reason, and if anyone knows please feel free to enlighten me.

Pull onto the shoulder, get in line, go into the scale. Or... take your chances that there isn't a bear with a ticket book and a fine waiting on the other side of the scales.
