I have been running a trucking company for 2 months now and my DOT Audit is coming soon. i have all the permits i need dot#, mc#, TID#, IFTA, permits etc.
I have 1 driver that runs out of state i have him listed in a consortium drug testing and a pre employment drug test.

When the dot comes to audit what will they check for?
    i know they will check
    -my truck maintenance
    -driver qualification
    -drug test
    -accident reports
    -log books

what else does the dot check i need a list of what the dot needs

    thank you in advance

They will ask you for trailer maintenance as well,
they will want to see the receipts of the trips you have done to compare them to your log books.

I've have owned two different trucking companies and both times when the initial audit came up the DOT officers were very nice,
they will tell you they are there to show you the proper way to maintain all records, but they will also make it very clear that next time you are audited and they find something wrong that their fines are VERY expensive
