... oh, and I also get a lot of sleep.

I rarely had to shut down under the HOS. But I did have areas that I would intentionally shutdown for a day or two.

St. Regis Montana was always a must stop area for me. The travel center had a little restaurant/gift shop/bar/motel next door with parking about a hundred yards away. The Trestle Creek golf course was right up the road and always had a few open tee times. I usually made a day of it. I hired a fishing guide there a couple times as well. I loved that little town.

Play on Laptop Tablet watch TV.

    You could read.
Pick a decent place to do a reset, go on a walk.

It's really only a regular 10 hour break plus a day.

For at least an hour or two weather permitting, I REALLY go over my truck and trailer so I'm not sitting on the side of the road somewhere the next day, BUT, that is just me and my O/O opinion.

Rest of my time is laundry, trip planning, and depending on where I am, maybe a cab ride to some attraction, or city center if they have museums, historical sites, neat architecture.

To be honest, I USUALLY try and park near a motel on my 34 and the half day I spend in the truck get all my stuff done, and then I get a room for the full day, it's not a bad thing to get out of the truck for a day/night, and recharge my batteries.

To me it was 60.00 well spent.

Do a proper.and thorough vehicle inspection. There are things you may find when you have an 'all the time in the world' mental state. I mean, who ever really does a full and thorough inspection when the are running.

I have never done a 34 away from home. Sometimes I get bored at home and look the truck over really well. Yes, I take my company truck home every weekend.
