When I first started driving in Oregon I got a red light on a closed scale, and went in anyway. There was a jerk DOT inspector there, and he walked up to my door and yelled "IF THE SIGN SAYS CLOSED DON'T COME INTO THE SCALE". Ever since then, I've bypassed the scales in Oregon if the sign says closed. Never had a problem.

Just tell them "that's what you get for using NorPass"...

Darned if you do or don't. Got red-lighted into a closed coop once myself.

Haven't had pre-pass in a long time and don't miss it a bit.

If you look at the Rand McNally book for every state, it shows every scale as a red dot.

Oregon has a case of measles. That's partly because they aren't participating in IFTA. Backwards thinking.

I'm surprised the officer took the time to call and get that fixed for him, most would just say that's what you get for not listening to the light.

You should try the ones midway through the Dalles off 84. They use some sort of Jct Ramp system and they go everywhere but where you are going.

I have been tempted to run across that frozen ice sheet that was once a few acres of real pretty flat land by the pavement of the big road.

Did this in Louisiana and pulled off on the next ramp and waited a few minutes. State Trooper rolled up and I gave him my story about missing. Thanks me for the intent and tells me to go on my way. Wheeew, huge fine if he chased me down.
