Wanted to update everyone… I am now 23 and was having a tough timing finding anything at that age. Have been working for O’Reilly Auto now for 2 years and do my 3 ride alongs next week for their route driver position. It is 3rd shift M-F weekends off, route pay. They send you to school for 5 weeks in MO and you sign a 2 year contract. It is all local work except occasionally would stay out of town for a week to cover satellites whenever they take vacay or time off. Just curious if anyone else had any input on driving for O’Reilly… pros? Cons? Any advice? Feel like this is the only way to get my foot in the door as a local Class A driver with 0 experience.
Past Driving Record at 17, will it effect my chances?

Did you get your license back in 2019?
What capacity have you been working at o'reilly ?
2 years is the longest contract I have every heard of
What is the pay for this ?Lmiller98 Thanks this. -
Do the O'Reilly job for 12 solid months, then re-evaluate and decide if you want to try something else.
If O-Reilly is helping you get a cdl, then stick with it for the duration of the contract.
`
Sygma is hiring in Wallburg and hiring new cdl school grads. Probably a lot harder work that O'Reilly though.

You might see about getting your CDL at a community college then not having such a contract at all.
I like to be able to seize opportunity when it comes my way instead of being tied down like that -
He can double that with Sygma and still be home every day.
About the only way to get a CDL and then be home every day will be with O'Reilly or attend a CDL school.Lmiller98 Thanks this. -
