I have had multiple DUI's in my past. I had the misfortune of getting 2 just a year apart. Both were right at the legal limit (.10 in MN) at the time. They are almost 10 years old. I also have a test refusal that is 5 years old. So all in all not a good thing. My record is clean besides these, never been in an accident or any other trouble. I had long thought about making the move to trucking from construction until these driving problems. Now that there is some time between the offenses and present, my question is: Do I have a chance to be accepted as a Prime schooling candidate? Anyone?

don't know about Prime specifically, but MOST companies put a time limit on the first (3-5-7-10 yrs) and a second is usually a killer.
what kind of "refusal" are you talking about?

What was that line from Smokey and the Bandit? "Boy, you are in a heap of trouble". :biggrin_25513:

I'd not mention the 2, 'almost 10 yrs ago. Not at all. Never to anyone, in the business.
Most apps. say 'within the last 5 years', right? I'd mention 'failure to test' 5 years ago. They will find that one. I don't think they will find the 10 yr old stuff.
Most companies these days only take '1' in a lifetime. 2? No. You don't really 'have a choice', with 2. And that is what you are asking.
Being honest will get you what? Moral satisfaction? Ok. whatever. That is your choice. Lyin',or not totally telling everything you know/did etc, well, it might get you a job, and a career. And if you learned a lesson by now, and stay clean, maybe you have a career for awhile and know each day you are out there is a day you are making money. Maybe more money than construction, etc. And as long as they don't find it....which they won't, if you keep your mouth shut.

I'd lie like a bad dog about it/2 dui's. Let them find it, if they CAN. I don't think they can find it. The worst that can happen is they say 'no' to hiring you. Tell them 'the truth', and it is 'no'. So, this could be a 'moral' question I suppose, to some people.
Me? Well, let's just say me and the good Lord have our talks about some of the things I've done, and my reason for lyin' here and there, and my promise to do what I can do... I ain't perfect, and ain't tryin' to be. Gotta live with yourself whatever you do, eh.
So just know what will happen if you mention 2 dui's and a 'failure', ok? That's 3, if you do math correctly. You won't be able to get in truckin' tho, if you tell them this fact. They might find it up to ten yrs. Maybe not tho, and I'm saying 'no they won't find it'. From what I've seen this is true.
You tell them, and you just gave them reason to say 'no'. fwiw. You get another dui, lets say in a truck w/injury accident/fatality, and I'd say you go to prison for a long time. So be aware of your transgressions, my friend. They will bring in the big guns, fbi maybe? I dunno...

I suppose Jesus' apostle's lied to the Roman soldiers about Jesus' whereabouts, eh, on the night they went after Him. Right? Doesn't the Bible say that? I believe it does...
I suppose there were jewish folks that told lies to nazi's who were tryin' to kill them, eh? Any problem with that? I don't have a problem with either of my two examples. Sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do.
    Live and learn.
Best of luck. 'all have fallen short of the glory of God'.
