Exactly. Then, after months of clean driving, the whole thing opens up.

First I'd like to thank everyone for advice etc..
Most of the companies mentioned will take me but I either had to have...x amount of time since release... or x amount of time off parole!! I would also like to add I'm not doing this to get rich. I'm doing this to provide for my son. To obtain a stable career. So if I have to go to a low paying company so be it. It's all about the experience in my case. I know if I run the miles and gain the experience...all doors will open up!!
So Carolina Cargo is definitely not the best...but for many drivers/students in my case it is our only option. Some say it's hell. NO IVE BEEN TO HELL!! Twenty three hours at a time. In a 12 by 8 box!! I will gain my experience whatever way I have to!
So I'm scheduled for C.C. On the 13th.
I'll keep everyone posted. Thanks again to all for the advice and knowledge.

Yes...western express said they will hire me but I have to be a full three years out of prison!! So I give Carolina Cargo 5 or 6 months. Then I start looking again!!

I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that we look forward to updates from you and have strong wishes for the best for you and your son. I'm happy for you that you are stepping through the door somewhere and can begin to get that experience that will open doors.

Just passing by and seventhirty Thank this.

As much as I hate the idea of servitude for relatively low pay, I'd suggest hanging out for a year given your circumstances

    seventhirty and Rubicon Thank this.

Might be a good idea to look if you can get hazmat and twic.
I would also suggest to allready contact Canada to see if you could be allowed in.
Knowing what is possible and how will prepare you for a better future.

    seventhirty Thanks this.

Best wishes with Carolina Cargo. Make the best of it. Many trucking companies want experience in all weather/all terrain driving and you'll get that with Carolina Cargo.

Your motivation to provide for your son, that is gold.

Compared to the hell where you have been, a sleeper berth will be a suite at a five star hotel.
