I recently received a job offer at schneider. I have no experience at all. Realistically how much should I plan on making my first couple of years. I know rookies don't get paid as good as the guys with more experience.

I made just short of 40k in first year
-
Rookies can make $60K right out of cdl school if they have all the endorsments.
If you're going with Schneider, go Schneider Bulk which is the tanker division.TequilaSunrise Thanks this. -
Depends on the quality of the rookie. If you don't rush, be patient, dont hit things, and actually learn the business, you can easily do in excess of 40k. My last stint with Schneider, I easily would have made 60k have I stayed the full calendar year, but I switched to tankers.
Don't focus so much on the money at first. You have to get out of the habit of looking at how much you gross per week and look at it on a monthly basis. Alot of times you'll have a stellar week and then 2 bad weeks follwed by a good week. Weekly it looks bad. But average it out over a month and you actually did quite good. -
The problem with this type of question is the fact that the answer varies HUGELY. Every company pays differently. everyone gets different amounts of miles. Even inside the same company and on the same account mileage will vary as will accessory pay.
What is the offer at SNI? Is it OTR? Dedicated? Bulk? Team? All of these will pay differently.
Being brand new myself, and through all my research, I wouldn't expect less than 30k for the first year assuming you actually work. Don't take "work" to mean "rush". Though you will "hustle" to get things done. Especially if you're on a dedicated account.
Just my two cents. -
I don't plan on rushing myself. I don't want to look at about how much I get paid. I really want to do this. This is something I wanted to do since I was a kid. I understand I got bills to pay but I really want to learn the business and really make this work.
